QLD: Reef needs more Canberra funding, not meddling QCFO

BRISBANE, Jan 11 AAP - Queensland's commercial fishing industry today urged the federal
government to help finance, but not interfere in the day-to-day management of the newly
expanded Great Barrier Reef Marine Park (GBRMP).

The Queensland Commercial Fishermen's Organisation (QCFO) welcomed today's announcement of
the expansion and said it would work with the park's other stakeholders to ensure the new
areas were properly managed.
