Area 2 Violent Crimes investigators said Wednesday they are no closer to solving the weekend kidnap/murder of a Far South Side businessman.
Erroll Edwards, owner of "Geno's Towing & Auto Repair," was discovered dead in a wooded area near 99th and Woodlawn, just north of the Olive-Harvey College campus. He had been kidnapped from his business, located in the 12200 block of South Ashland late Friday.
Employees who had ran an errand, returned and noticed signs of a struggle, but couldn't locate Edwards. Later, Edwards' family received numerous ransom demands for as much as $100,000, but when the family compromised with the kidnappers and told them they could come up with …
