NSW: Third medical certificate lodged to keep Rivkin out of jail

Convicted insider trader RENE RIVKIN will remain free from his periodic detention sentence
at least until February on medical grounds.

The 59-year-old high-profile Sydney stockbroker was sentenced to nine months of weekend
jail in May over a transaction of Qantas shares, but has only ever served one day due
to ill health.

RIVKIN was due to resume his detention on Sunday, but a New South Wales Corrective
Services Department spokesman has confirmed that RIVKIN's medical specialists lodged a
third medical certificate today.
